Dover’s Season of Good Cheer

Come to the library to pick up your Dover’s Season of Good Cheer card! Visit local businesses anytime before December 6 and get a stamp on your card. There are also a ton of fun events taking place at area businesses throughout the season. Return your stamped card to the Dover Public Library to be entered to win a gift basket with donations from participating businesses. This is a great way to celebrate our community this season! Food For Fines Week

Have overdue fines? Bring in non-perishable food items during our Food For Fines week and get the slate wiped clean! One item equals up to $1 off your account. Food items will benefit “Share-A-Christmas.” This opportunity is available for patrons of all ages. The program will not waive fines for lost or damaged items. All food items must be unopened, have their original labels, and be in good condition. Downtown Dover History Walk & Scavenger Hunt

A Downtown Dover History Hunt will be held on Saturday, November 1 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. This special community event is the kickoff for Dover’s Season of Good Cheer, a fun family-friendly event that was created to foster holiday joy and encourage the community to shop locally. Scavenger hunt guides can be picked up at the Dover Public Library beginning at 10:00 AM and completed guides must be turned in at the library by 4:00 PM. Participants are asked to take “selfies” at ten downtown Dover historic sites. Participants may complete the scavenger hunt individually or in teams. Those who complete the scavenger hunt are eligible to win a large Moravian Star donated by the First Moravian Church of Dover. Sleepy Hollow Revisited

An Evening with Rik Swartzwelder

Meet film director, actor, and author Rik Swartzwelder at this special event! Fit for Fall 2014: The Return Journey

Join Bilbo on the final stage of his quest in the 2014 Fit for Fall Walking Challenge! By walking 100 hours between September 1 and December 13, you can walk with Bilbo from Rivendell back to Bag End. Participants will walk about an hour a day, and all walkers who reach Bree (75 hours) will receive a free t-shirt! By completing the 100 hours, you will be entered to win 2 tickets plus snacks to see the premier of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies at the Great Escape Massillon Stadium 12 theater.
