Originally launched as a reading room for the employees of the American Sheet and Tin Plate Company, the Dover Public Library has served the citizens of Dover and surrounding communities since 1902. Through two 20th century world wars and post war renaissance highlighted by construction of a new state-of-the-art mid-century modern inspired building in 1955, the Dover Public Library has become an important community resource/public programs, information, resources, and cultural enrichment.
